• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• P.E. registration in Michigan and ability to acquire in other states.
• 5 to 10 years of relevant post-education experience in Structural Engineering with emphasis on bridges.
• Strong technical skills and background in bridge design.
• Able to lead design teams and work in a team environment.
• Proficiency in technical writing and design software (e.g., MicroStation, ANSYS, STADD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS).
• 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training preferred.

Responsabilidades

This position is best suited for an engineer who is seeking an opportunity to work within a team-focused local office, with the resources and support of a large world-wide engineering firm. Tasks may include assisting with concept development, planning, design, and construction of load-bearing structures or structural elements, substantiates reports and documentation regarding material, installations, and construction specifications, and ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, structural soundness, and functionality. Your Impact

• Lead design, plan developmenttasksand perform structural analysis and design with a concentration on Michigan highway structures
• Activelymaintainproject scope, design changes and project budget and schedule while assigned to projects
• Mentoring, training and development of staff and others performing similar work
• Ability to provide close coordination with others on the project as well as independent QC/QA reviews
• Work with marketing staff to contribute to and/or lead technical proposals.
• RepresentingWSP at targeted professional society meetings, including presenting at conferences asappropriateand approved
• Other duties as assigned

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
• P.E. registration in Michigan and ability toacquirein other states
• 5 to 10 years of relevant post education experience in Structural Engineering with an emphasis on bridges
• Strong technical skills and background in bridge design
• Accustomed to working in a team environment on challenging projects and leading design teams in delivering high quality projects
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience
• Highly capable self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment
• Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC
• Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, discipline-specific design software (i.e., MicroStation, , ANSYS, STADD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS), technology, math principles, physics, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
• Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek
• Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements
• Master’s Degree in Engineering.
• 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred.
• Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with MDOT Design Standards
• Experience serving as the lead engineer or with managing small to mid-size projects
