Job summary

Conn Selmer, Inc. in Indiana is seeking an experienced Musical Instrument Repair Technician to inspect, adjust, and play test French horns, ensuring they meet “Play out of the Box” expectations.

You will work with the Quality, Manufacturing, Product Development, and Engineering teams to maintain cosmetics and instrument functionality. The role requires 3+ years of repair experience, an associates degree in Music or related field, and proficiency with small tools and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Musical Instrument Repair experience (3+ years), BIRT School Certification/Diploma preferred
• Minimum Associates degree in Music, Music Education, or equivalent experience (Strong Brasswind playing experience preferred)
• Extensive instrument repair knowledge, experience, and techniques
• Experience or understanding of working with small tools, measuring instruments or parts
• Proficient in the English language with excellent written and verbal communication ski
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g.: Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Ability to work independently as a self-starter with an expectation for positive results
• A willingness to learn and thrive as part of a dynamic team of experts

Responsibilities

• Inspect, grade, adjust, and play test French horns.
• Adjusting and setting up all instruments to meet the “Play out of the Box” customer expectation
• Reporting on improvements to better the quality of the projects produced
• Inspect, grade, and adjust all trial and returned products
• Follow and uphold all processes and procedures to maintain the quality standards for cosmetics and instrument functionality
• Assisting the facility in projects as well as reaching operational goals, and objective
• Assisting the Quality, Manufacturing, Product Development, and Engineering team with technical input
