Job summary

Napa Valley Unified School District seeks a Boys Frosh Basketball Head Coach at American Canyon High School to lead and develop student-athletes during the season. You will plan practices, teach fundamentals and game strategies while fostering sportsmanship and teamwork within a school setting.

The role requires HS coaching experience and the ability to work with staff, families, and boosters; required safety certifications will be pursued as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching high school student-athletes.
• Willing to obtain First Aid/CPR, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest, NFHS Concussion in Sports and NFHS Heat and Illness prevention.
• Knowledge of sportsmanship, age-appropriate physical capacities, coaching principles and safety.

Responsibilities

• Season runs from November through February; some off-season activities are expected.
• Work with ACHS staff, student-athletes, parents, administration, and the ACHS Athletic Booster Club.
• The Frosh Head Coach receives a booster stipend at the end of the season.
