Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an experienced Blaster in Charge Foreman to lead drilling, blasting, and rock excavation on a road construction project near Study Butte, Texas.

You will plan crews, coordinate equipment, enforce safety, and ensure on-time project delivery while meeting cost targets. The role requires flexibility for day and night shifts, with housing options and per diem/travel allowances available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to plan and communicate tasks.
• Knowledge of scheduling, material control and cost management basics.
• Good communicator, motivator, and team player.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and organize people, equipment, tools and materials to promote safe, efficient and timely construction.
• Lead and train drilling, blasting, and rock excavation operations for safety and productivity.
• Ensure construction equipment is operated and maintained correctly.
• Maintain accurate reporting including job quantities, productivity, time sheets, and daily reports.
• Assist in developing weekly schedules and sequencing of activities for the crew.
• Ensure timely completion of work within estimated costs while upholding quality workmanship.
• Maintain safety of crew and enforce all company and government safety rules.
• Conduct toolbox talks and communicate safety concerns, scope, plans and schedules to leadmen and crews.
