Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an experienced Foreman to support road construction, grading, and earthmoving operations near Study Butte, Texas. The role requires leading drilling, blasting, and rock excavation teams, ensuring safe, efficient project delivery and accurate reporting.

Expect to manage equipment, oversee crew performance, and maintain schedules while complying with safety rules. Housing may be available, with per diem and travel allowances for distant sites.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Foreman.
  • BlasterExperience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and organize people, equipment, tools and materials to promote safe and timely construction.
  • Lead and train drilling, blasting, and rock excavation operations to ensure safety and productivity.
  • Ensure that construction equipment is correctly operated and maintained.
  • Maintain accurate reporting records including job quantities, productivity rates, time sheets, and daily management reports.
  • May assist in developing a weekly schedule and sequencing activities for assigned crew.
  • Ensure timely completion of work within estimated costs while upholding quality workmanship.
  • Ensure safety for crew and comply with safety rules.
  • Communicate safety concerns, work scope, plans and schedules to leadmen and crews.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies by all employees under supervision.
  • Must be able to move about a construction site and operate in harsh outdoor conditions.
  • Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required.
  • May need to use ladders and platforms to access equipment/work areas.
  • Move items up to 50 pounds and maintain balance on formwork and scaffolding.
  • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.

Kiewit is seeking an experienced Foreman to support road construction, grading, and earthmoving operations near Study Butte, Texas.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Foreman.

BlasterExperience preferred

Shift Information
  • Pay rate up to $46/hr depending on experience.
  • Shift schedule: 10 days on 4 days off
  • Must be available to work day and night shift
  • Additional overtime and weekends may be required.
  • $70/day worked per diem is provided for travel exceeding 50 miles from the project site
  • $75/day will be provided for travel allowance

  • All offers are contingent on your ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol test.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
  • Plan, coordinate and organize people, equipment, tools and materials to promote the safe, efficient and timely construction of the project.
  • Lead and train all drilling, blasting, and rock excavation operations to ensure safe, efficient, and productive project execution.
  • Ensure that construction equipment is correctly operated and maintained.
  • Maintain accurate reporting records including job quantities, productivity rates, time sheets, and daily management reports.
  • May assist in developing a weekly schedule and in carrying out sequence of activities for assigned crew.
  • Responsible for timely completion of work assignments within the estimated costs while maintaining the company’s reputation for quality workmanship/product.
  • Responsible for the safety of those on the crew and will conduct all operations according to all applicable company and government safety rules.
  • Will develop and maintain a proper crew attitude by conducting toolbox meetings and communicating safety concerns, work scope, plans and schedules to leadmen and crews.
  • Monitor compliance by all employees under his/her supervision with all Company policies
  • The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
  • Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions
  • Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
  • May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
  • Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
  • Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
  • May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site
  • Must have required tools
  • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required
  • Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing
