Job summary

Synagro Technologies, Inc. in West Palm Beach, FL seeks a Chief Operator to lead the biosolids drying facility on shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operation. You will monitor SCADA, direct operators, optimize performance, troubleshoot issues, and enforce safety and environmental requirements.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on technical skills, and ability to work rotating shifts. A high school diploma or GED and at least two years of process ops experience are

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two (3) years of experience in a process operations environment.
• Minimum two (2) years of control room and SCADA/DCS experience.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Experience operating and monitoring industrial process equipment.
• Experience performing minor mechanical repairs and equipment adjustments.
• Experience interpreting process data and making operational process adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to Plant Operators during shift operations.
• Coordinate daily work activities to ensure safe and efficient plant operation.
• Direct loading operators and coordinate material deliveries.
• Coordinate with plant management and maintenance personnel to meet objectives.
• Train, mentor, and develop operators with hands-on instruction.
• Promote accountability and adherence to procedures.
• Monitor and optimize plant processes using the SCADA system.
• Analyze process data to maintain stable performance.
• Identify upsets and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate startup, shutdown, and changeover activities.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Operate, monitor, and maintain process equipment.
• Diagnose and perform routine repairs and adjustments.
