Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician to support the medical equipment management program. You will assist the Clinical Engineering Manager, perform PM and corrective maintenance on a range of diagnostic and therapeutic devices, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

The role requires an Associate degree in medical electronics or related field, 5+ years in the field, and the ability to train staff and collaborate across hospital departments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate of Applied Sciences Degree in related field of medical electronics or equivalent training.
• Five or more years experience performing corrective and planned maintenance on medical devices and/or clinical support equipment.
• Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Knowledge and understanding of OSHA, NFPA, The Joint Commission, EOC, FDA and related regulations for clinical equipment service.

Responsibilities

• Assists Clinical Engineering Manager in planning, developing, and implementing the medical equipment management program using an equipment life cycle approach.
• Performs planned maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance on diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment; includes installs, calibrations, safety testing, and repairs.
• Monitors PM completion rates, analyzes program effectiveness and operating costs, and reports results to CE Manager.
• Provides on-call service coverage and training to Bio-Medical Equipment Techs; acts as CE representative in the absence of the CE Manager.
• Travels to Trinity Health facilities as required to support equipment maintenance and training.
• Maintains knowledge of applicable laws, compliance programs, and safety standards.
