Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina seeks a Lead of the Clinical Data Factory to support AI development workflows with PI/PHI‑compliant synthetic data pipelines and model-training readiness. Qualifications

Master’s degree required.
2–3 years of relevant experience with some leadership exposure.
Experience in data engineering, synthetic data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, or regulated healthcare data systems.
Familiarity with PI/PHI handling, HIPAA, or regulated-data architectures preferred.
Leadership: ability to mentor junior engineers/architects and coordinate technical backlog or system maintenance cycles.

Responsibilities

Synthetic data pipeline management and compliance to PI/PHI standards, ensuring high-quality datasets for model training.
Oversee lifecycle maintenance of AI Center built tools and data infrastructure enhancements.
Lead and mentor junior data engineers and architects, maintaining documentation and standards.
Collaborate with AI project teams to support data provisioning and model experimentation.
Maintain data governance practices and monitor data risk in alignment with IS guidance.
