Job summary

ASRT, Inc. in Atlanta, GA seeks a Sr. Bioinformatics Scientist to lead advanced genomics and computational biology projects within our Applied Bioinformatics Laboratory (ABiL).

The role combines project management, client relations, and hands-on development of bioinformatics tools, pipelines, and training programs for diverse clients across government, industry and academia. A PhD and 5–6 years in bioinformatics are required.

Qualifications

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics or Biology with at least 24 semester hours in mathematics, statistics, bioinformatics, or informatics.
• 5–6 years of experience as a bioinformatician with peer‑reviewed publications.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux, scripting (BASH), and various NGS analysis tools.
• Experience leading bioinformatics projects and managing client interactions.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead project management and client relations for ABiL engagements.
• Oversee recruitment, personnel decisions, and supervision of the team.
• Develop bioinformatics tools and pipelines for diverse projects.
• Collaborate with internal/external partners to deliver services.
• Train staff and contribute to workforce development training.
