Job summary

Lakeside Book Company in Crawfordsville, IN seeks a Lead Bindery Operator 2 for the day shift (7am-3pm). You will set up, adjust and operate a range of bindery machines to process printed sheets into final books, catalogs, and manuals.

Responsibilities include directing a production crew, monitoring quality and output, inspecting equipment for safety, and performing routine adjustments. The position offers growth, training, and vacation time.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of setup, adjustment and operation of bindery equipment to finish printed materials.
• Knowledge of paper weights, sizes, colors and conditions for machine adjustments.
• Understanding limitations and capabilities of bindery machines for complex setups.
• Ability to use hand tools for machine adjustments and maintenance.
• Ability to read and follow sequences of machine operations.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate bindery machines including cutters, folders, collators, stitchers and gluing systems.
• Inspect equipment for safety and proper operation.
• Operate automatic adhesive binding machines and related stations as required.
• Coordinate multiple work stations on a single job and adjust for output.
• Direct the production crew and monitor quality, output and productivity.
