ArchKey is seeking a Lead BIM Specialist to guide BIM execution plans and project workflows across electrical and related disciplines. Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent in BIM, engineering or related field; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • Minimum 5–6 years of BIM modeling experience.
  • Experience with Revit, Autodesk, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office; Evolve is a plus.
  • Knowledge of NEC and contracts, plans and specifications basics.
  • Strong project life cycle understanding and desire to grow in electrical design.

Responsibilities

  • Lead BIM coordination and guidance for project teams, ensure BIM execution plans are followed.
  • Maintain high-level Revit knowledge to support software usage and electrical tasks.
  • Complete 2D/3D drafting to support electrical construction initiatives in Revit.
  • Implement BIM standards and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Attend BIM coordination meetings and communicate with project stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, foremen, contractors and vendors.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and performance feedback to staff as needed.

About the position

As a Lead BIM Specialist, you will be r esponsible for providing both project team guidance and training related to project-specific building information modeling (BIM) execution plans and (BIM) project workflow criteria. The Lead BIM Specialist works closely with project managers and others that involves project planning as required for each specific project. Th e Lead BIM Specialist plays a key role in the design process and will provide direction to other team members.

Day in the life
  • Facilitates BIM, planning strategies, daily work plans and maintains accountability on assigned projects from inception through completion, in consultation with the project team and monitors quality of work product.
  • Functions as the production subject matter expert by maintaining a high user level of knowledge of Revit to support questions regarding both software use and electrical specific tasks.
  • Completes 2D and 3D drafting tasks to support electrical construction initiatives, utilizing Revit.
  • Supports and implements all BIM, prefab, technologies, and planning standards. Provides recommendations for changes to improve standards and procedures, as necessary.
  • Attends BIM coordination meetings and maintains appropriate communications with all appropriate parties as needed. Makes plan changes according to feedback received.
  • Builds strong, effective relationships with customers, foremen, project team, specialty contractors, vendors, suppliers, user groups and others that reflect and support the Company’s core values and meet or exceed the customer’s expectations.
  • Participates in electrical construction-related training to maintain a high level of proficiency and updated technical skills.
  • Provides communications, mentoring, training and teambuilding to staff and other co-workers as needed. Coaches employees and provides performance feedback regularly.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience in building information modeling (BIM), engineering or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5-6 years of BIM modeling experience.
  • Experience and proficiency using Revit, Autodesk, Bluebeam software and Microsoft Office. Experience using Evolve software is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of the National Electrical Code, safety codes, and best practices. Skills to read, interpret and understand electrical contracts, plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Basic project management training, experience, and skills. Understanding of the project life cycle.
  • A strong desire to learn more about electrical design and construction, with a commitment to being a dependable team player and growing with the Company.
Travel
  • Occasional travel may be required
