Job summary

Amazon Logistics is seeking a smart BI Engineer to develop and support logistics analytics and reporting. You will design data sets, build scalable dashboards, and partner with Operations, HR, Tech, and shipping teams to answer key business questions.

You will lead a small team, analyze large geo-spatial and transaction data, and translate insights into actionable recommendations for delivery performance and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience.
  • 1+ years of SQL, ETL or Oracle experience.
  • 1+ years of processing large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources experience.
  • 1+ years of performing statistical analysis experience.
  • 1+ years of developing automated reporting experience.
  • 3+ years of in the job offered or a related occupation experience.
  • 1+ years of using SQL, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), or Oracle experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines.
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab.
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal stakeholders across multiple teams, gathering requirements and delivering end to end solutions.
  • Partner with Data Engineering and Software Development Engineers to prioritize and define AMZL data and BI development needs.
  • Work with in-house scientists, global supply chain, transportation and logistics teams to identify new BI capabilities and projects.
  • Lead and develop a team of Business Intelligence Engineers and Business Analysts.
  • Conduct deep dive investigations into operations execution and business problems, identify opportunities, and lead or support implementation (role varies by opportunity).
  • Analyze and visualize large scale geo-spatial logistics and transaction data to articulate user behavior or delivery process problems, and output solid analysis report with recommendation.
  • Serve as liaison between the WW Planning and Analytics team and the operations business teams to achieve the goal of providing actionable insights into current delivery performance, and ad hoc investigations into future improvements or innovations.
  • Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reporting.
