BRADY WORLDWIDE INC in Milwaukee seeks a Lead BI Developer to transform business needs into reporting and analytics solutions. You will partner with Finance, Sales & Marketing, and Operations to design, develop, implement, and optimize enterprise reporting and visualization.

You will lead semantic models, data warehouses, and security, mentor developers, and take ownership of Jira stories from concept to production. Strong Power BI or Qlik expertise and SQL skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on BI reporting, visualization design, data modeling, and end-to-end dashboard implementation.
• Advanced expertise in Power BI or QlikView/Qlik Sense.
• Strong SQL skills and experience integrating diverse data sources.
• Experience implementing row-level/section access security and governing tenant/workspace.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business analysts and stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements; lead solution design, create mock-ups, and translate needs into scalable reporting models and intuitive visualizations.
• Design, develop, and maintain semantic models, data layers, and reporting architectures following enterprise best practices.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain data transformation and load scripts; implement and manage data access security (RLS/Section Access).
• Provide ongoing enhancements and production support; troubleshoot and resolve data bottlenecks and refresh issues.
• Lead code reviews, enforce standards, and mentor junior-to-mid-level developers.
• Participate in Scrum; own Jira user stories from conception through production rollout.

Job description

We're looking for a talented and experienced Lead BI Developerto join our team! In this role, you'll be a key player in transforming business needs into powerful reporting and analytics solutions. You'll partner closely with our Finance, Sales & Marketing, and Operations teams, leveraging your expertise to design, develop, implement, and transform business requirements into powerful, scalable, and high-performing applications. You will be a technical expert responsible for guiding the design, development, and support of our enterprise reporting and visualization solutions.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Partner with business analysts and functional stakeholders across diverse departments to understand reporting and analytics requirements; lead solution design, create mock-ups, and translate needs into scalable reporting models and intuitive visualizations.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable semantic models, data layers, and reporting architectures adhering to enterprise best practices and governance standards.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain data transformation and load scripts, orchestrating Implement and manage granular data access security, including Role-Level Security (RLS) in Power BI or Section Access in QlikView.
• Provide ongoing enhancements and production support; proactively troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve data bottlenecks, refresh failures, and calculation latencies with a sense of urgency.
• Lead code reviews, enforce coding and architectural standards, and mentor junior-to-mid-level developers to foster technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Participate in our Scrum process, taking end-to-end ownership of Jira user stories from conception through to production rollout.

What You Will Need To Be Successful:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in BI reporting, visualization design, data modeling, and end-to-end dashboard implementation.
• Advanced expertise in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, Dataflows, Service administration) OR QlikView / Qlik Sense (Load Scripting, QVD generation, Set Analysis, QMC administration).
• Strong proficiency in data modeling, semantic layers, and data warehousing concepts (e.g., star schemas, link tables).
• Demonstrated experience implementing row-level/section access security and managing tenant/workspace governance.
• Strong SQL skills with demonstrated experience connecting to and integrating diverse enterprise data sources (e.g., SAP, SQL Server, relational databases, and flat files).
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, capable of working effectively both independently and as a technical lead of a team.
• Strong communication skills, ability to communicate well with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
