Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center at Norfolk is hiring for a Behavioral Health Technician to support inpatient detox and residential operations. You will oversee intake, supervision, events, transportation, food service, and medications, and you will train the BHT team to uphold high standards of care.

The role emphasizes leadership, empathy, and boundary setting to maintain a warm, recovery-focused environment for residents across a few shifts at our Norfolk, VA facility.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and CPR certification preferred.
• If in recovery, a minimum one-year sobriety is required.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all daily residential operations (i.e., Intake, supervision, events, transportation, food service, medications, etc.).
• Train and support BHT team in all operations and responsibilities.
• Escalate concerns or crises to Lead Behavioral Health Technician.
• Oversee client engagement and morale, maintaining a warm and positive recovery environment.
• Ensure client and BHT compliance with all Avenues rules, policies and procedures.
