Job summary

Haven Behavioral Hospital of Philadelphia is seeking a Full-time Lead Behavioral Health Technician. The role supports nursing staff, oversees BHTs, and maintains a therapeutic milieu with patient care activities and thorough documentation.

Requirements include a high school diploma and 2+ years with psychiatric inpatients; strong reading, writing and communication skills are essential; BLS and de-escalation training are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least two years’ experience with psychiatric patients in an inpatient setting preferred.
• Must read, write and follow verbal and written instructions; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support nursing staff and oversee other BHTs to maintain a therapeutic milieu.
• Perform patient care activities under supervision in accordance with regulations.
• Document observations, vital signs, nutrition intake and safety checks according to policy.
• Provide de-escalation and therapeutic interventions as needed; train new Mental Health Technicians.
