Job summary

Haven Behavioral Healthcare, an Oceans Healthcare Company, is seeking a Lead Behavioral Health Technician to support nursing staff and supervise BHTs on the floor while maintaining a therapeutic milieu. You will perform routine tasks within regulatory standards and Oceans' mission to deliver high-quality care.

Responsibilities include monitoring unit rules, employing de-escalation techniques, ensuring safety checks, training staff, and documenting observations for the nursing team.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• At least two years of inpatient psychiatric experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and follow instructions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support unit rules compliance.
• Use de-escalation techniques and therapeutic interventions.
• Oversee patient environment and safety checks.
• Train and mentor junior Mental Health Technicians.
• Follow infection control policies and safety procedures.
• Assist with vital signs, ADL, nutrition monitoring, and report findings.
