Job summary

Saft, a global battery company, seeks a Systems Engineer with a strong Electrical Engineering background to mature advanced energy storage solutions from technology demonstration to prototype readiness. Lead system architecture, requirements, interfaces, and verification across hardware and software in an early-stage development context.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Cockeysville and Bordeaux, drive technical roadmaps, and ensure safety and compliance while delivering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree required, in Electrical Engineering or related discipline such as Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Energy Storage Systems.
• 3+ years of experience in complex product development with hands-on electrical or systems design responsibilities.
• Experience progressing products through development and validation phases; proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering programs.
• Practical experience with electrical designs, schematics, wiring diagrams, protection concepts or power conversion interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize targeted applications for advanced battery systems with marketing and product managers.
• Define and run systems engineering activities for advanced battery system development programs.
• Define and maintain system requirements, functional architectures and interface specifications.
• Establish technical roadmaps from early prototypes to industrialized product solutions.
• Ensure traceability between requirements, design solutions and validation results.
• Develop overall system architecture for battery system platforms and document key electrical interfaces.
• Lead technical trade studies, design reviews and prototype implementation activities.
• Coordinate verification and validation strategies and lead cross-domain integration.
• Lead system-level hazard analyses, risk assessments and fault management approaches.
• Interface with engineering teams in Cockeysville and Bordeaux; support reviews and steering committees.
