Job summary

Ford’s Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) team is seeking a senior specialist to advance cell modeling for lithium-ion batteries and packs. You will work on modeling techniques, connect with cross-functional teams, and apply first-principles engineering in a dynamic environment.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in battery modeling, strong Python/MATLAB/Simulink skills, and experience with JIRA/Confluence; familiarity with different chemistries is a plus.

Qualifications

Masters in chemical, EE or related fields of engineering or equivalent education and experience.
5+ years of experience developing cell models and understanding of cell characteristics on system performance.
Knowledge of modeling techniques for lithium-ion cells, battery packs and thermal systems.
First principles knowledge of engineering, chemistry and physics fundamentals.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
High proficiency in Python, MATLAB, and Simulink.
Experience with JIRA/Confluence or similar systems for tracking inputs and results.
Experience with different cell chemistries and form factors.
