The role blends hands-on simulation with motorsport collaboration, requiring 2+ years in Li-Ion battery modeling and strong software skills in COMSOL, MATLAB, Simulink, GT-Suite, and Python.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • 2+ years modeling Li-Ion battery cells.
  • Competency in COMSOL, GT-Suite, Python, MATLAB Simulink.
  • Knowledge of battery cell test methods, chemistry, and key design parameters.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Build and refine electrochemical models using MATLAB and COMSOL.
  • Refine thermal and equivalent circuit models with GT-Suite and Simulink.
  • Collaborate with array design engineers on cell integration and cooling.
  • Provide technical expertise to global Ford Racing teams.
  • Guide testing strategies; define requirements for battery management systems.
