Job summary

Pendry in Newport Beach is seeking a Lead Bartender to join a vibrant hotel bar team. You will lead the crew, train new associates and support daily operations while delivering exceptional guest service.

You will craft cocktails, upsell, maintain bar cleanliness, and help develop new drink menus. Prior luxury-hotel bartending experience and Micros or similar POS knowledge are a plus; weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• One year minimum of bartending experience.
• Experience with Micros or similar POS systems.
• Luxury hotel experience is a plus.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with leading the team, training new associates and supporting day-to-day operations.
• Interact one-on-one with guests, take orders, make cocktails, upsell, ensure guest satisfaction and anticipate guest needs.
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the bar, stocking with appropriate products and supplies.
• Exhibit knowledge and service delivery of both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, and menu items.
• Assist with planning and developing new drink menus and cocktail recipes.
• Assist with ordering and maintaining supplies.
• Work as a team and communicate with management, bartenders, and service staff.
• Deliver on guests’ expectations and create WOW moments.
• Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.

Your Journey

Must Haves

• One year minimum of experience in bartending
• Prior micros or other systems experience
• Luxury hotel experience, a plus

Physical Requirements

• Grasping, holding, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending over
• Ability to stand and exercise mobility for extended periods of time during your scheduled shift
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and for extended periods during the shift
• Ability to push and pull food serving equipment and carts weighing up to 200 pounds on a semi - regular basis

The pay scale for Lead Bartender, Bar Pendry (Full-time) is $18.00 per hour.

The pay scale is the base salary or hourly wage range, exclusive of incentive pay such as commissions, piece rates, gratuities, and the like, that Montage reasonably expects to pay for the position.
