Job summary

Kith Women's Cafe in New York is seeking an experienced Lead Barista to elevate guest experiences, train baristas, and ensure consistent beverage quality. You will work with the MOD to oversee daily operations and uphold service standards.

You will lead training, manage inventory, and drive sales while maintaining hospitality excellence. Open availability includes evenings, weekends, and holidays; 2+ years barista experience and 1+ year leadership required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in the Food & Beverage industry as a Barista on a manual machine.
• 2+ years in a high-volume customer-facing role.
• 1+ years of management experience in a customer-facing role.
• 1+ years processing cash and card transactions through a POS system.
• Valid Food Handlers License (or ServSafe) required.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily coffee bar operations, ensuring cleanliness, organization, stocking, and efficient service.
• Uphold coffee quality standards, recipe execution, presentation, and consistency.
• Train and support Baristas on recipes, coffee knowledge, equipment, and service standards.
• Maintain knowledge of all coffee and bar offerings and educate guests while driving sales.
• Manage coffee inventory, receiving, storage, and FIFO rotation.
• Maintain equipment, cleaning, and maintenance standards; report repairs.
• Support POS operations and knowledge of the full F&B menu.
• Complete daily prep and operational tasks; assist other stations as needed.
• Uphold all food safety, sanitation, standards and company policies.
• Lead by example in hospitality, teamwork, and professionalism.
• Communicate needs and concerns to MOD and management team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Location: Kith Women's Cafe

Status: Full Time

Compensation: $22.00-$25.00/hr + Tip(s)

Position Summary

The F&B Lead Barista is an essential leader in delivering an elevated guest experience. The Lead Barista works closely with the MOD and management team to ensure seamless service and consistent execution. They serve as an expert on all beverage and menu offerings, while leading and supporting Baristas through training, guidance, and hands-on service. The Lead Barista sets the standard for hospitality, product knowledge, quality, and operational excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead daily coffee bar operations, ensuring cleanliness, organization, stocking, and efficient service.

• Uphold coffee quality standards, recipe execution, presentation, and consistency.

• Train and support Baristas on recipes, coffee knowledge, equipment, and service standards.

• Maintain strong knowledge of all coffee and bar offerings and confidently educate guests and drive sales.

• Manage coffee inventory, receiving, storage, and FIFO rotation.

• Maintain equipment, cleaning, and maintenance standards; communicate repair needs to management.

• Support POS operations and maintain knowledge of the full F&B menu.

• Complete daily prep and operational tasks while supporting other stations as needed.

• Uphold all food safety, sanitation, operational, and company standards.

• Lead by example in hospitality, teamwork, and professionalism.

• Communicate operational needs and service concerns to the MOD and management team.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Special Projects

• Participate and assist in Physical Inventories as required by the business.

• Assist the Merchandising team during visual initiatives as required by the business.

REQUIREMENTS

Availability

• Open & flexible availability, including but not limited to evenings, overnights, and weekends as well as Holidays.

• Availability to consistently work weekends, special projects, drops/releases or as the business’ needs require.

Licenses/Certificates

• Valid and current Food Handlers License from the Department of Health or ServSafe Food Handlers Certificate is required

Experience

• 2+ years in the Food & Beverage industry as a Barista on a manual machine

• 2+ years in a high-volume customer-facing role

• 1+ years of management experience in a customer-facing role

• 1+ years processing cash and card transactions through a POS system

Skills/Abilities

• Ability to multi-task

• Efficient communication

• Ability to lift and move 30lbs.

• Ability to perform standard tasks that are related to retail operations including but not limited to, bending, twisting, and climbing ladders/step stools.

• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
