Description

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Coffee Barista to oversee the coffee program @ Manhattan Project Beer Company. This role involves crafting high-quality beverages, training baristas, maintaining equipment, and upholding the highest standards of efficiency and hospitality. The ideal candidate is a skilled barista with leadership experience, a strong work ethic, and a love for coffee.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Support:

  • Train, mentor, and support baristas to enhance skills and maintain consistency.
  • Lead by example, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Customer Service & Beverage Quality

  • Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, espresso drinks, and other beverages according to company standards and recipes.
  • Ensure an exceptional guest experience by providing friendly and knowledgeable service.
  • Maintain product knowledge to educate customers about coffee origins, brewing methods, and menu items.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally.

Operations & Quality Control

  • Monitor and maintain coffee equipment, troubleshooting issues and scheduling maintenance as needed.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar, including prep stations and customer areas.
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and track waste to control costs and maintain stock levels.
  • Enforce health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to meet regulatory standards.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Assist in developing new drink recipes and seasonal offerings.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, brewing techniques, and customer preferences.
  • Collaborate with management to enhance the coffee program and customer experience.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 2+ years of barista experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, and espresso equipment.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience with inventory management and ordering is a plus.
  • Passion for coffee and a desire to continuously learn and improve.
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
