Job summary

Aspire Bakeries LLC is hiring a Sanitation Lead at our Alsip, IL bakery. You will oversee sanitation operations to ensure cleanliness, food safety, and regulatory compliance across equipment and production areas.

The role supports GMP, HACCP, and allergen controls, working with maintenance and operations to keep lines ready, while promoting safety and efficiency on the floor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in food production or related manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 1 year of lead, supervisory, or team leadership experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow safety procedures, SOPs, and documentation requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership.
• Ability to wear required PPE and perform physical sanitation duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead sanitation activities to ensure equipment and production areas meet company cleanliness and food safety standards.
• Maintain compliance with GMP, HACCP, allergen control, food defense, and food safety requirements.
• Document sanitation activities accurately and ensure adherence to established SOPs.
• Communicate food safety, sanitation, and equipment concerns to leadership in a timely manner.
• Partner with maintenance and operations teams to support equipment readiness and operational efficiency.
• Promote workplace safety through proper PPE usage, safe work practices, and clean work environments.
• Guide and support sanitation team performance to achieve operational and quality objectives.

About the Role

We are seeking a Sanitation Lead to join our team at our Alsip, IL bakery. As a Sanitation Lead, you will be accountable for leading sanitation operations that ensure equipment, production areas, and processes meet Aspire Bakeries' standards for cleanliness, food safety, and regulatory compliance. This role plays a critical part in supporting production readiness, food safety programs, and team performance while maintaining compliance with GMP, HACCP, and sanitation procedures.

• Shift: 1st Shift
• Hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
• Weekend Availability: Required

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $21.00 - $25.00

Core Accountabilities (What You'll be Doing)

• Lead sanitation activities to ensure equipment and production areas meet company cleanliness and food safety standards.
• Maintain compliance with GMP, HACCP, allergen control, food defense, and food safety requirements.

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in food production, food preparation, or a related manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 1 year of lead, supervisory, or team leadership experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow safety procedures, SOPs, and documentation requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership.
• Ability to wear required PPE and perform physical sanitation duties, including standing, walking, lifting, bending, and working around production equipment.

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

• College coursework or equivalent experience related to food production or manufacturing.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Experience in bakery, food manufacturing, or industrial sanitation environments.
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, allergen control, and food safety programs.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
