Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Food Scientist to drive new product development from concept through commercial launch in a hands-on, active manufacturing environment. You will develop bakery and dessert systems, perform bench and pilot testing, and translate formulations into scalable processes.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years’ experience in commercial food product development, GMP and FDA labeling knowledge, and strong cross-functional collaboration. Onsite in Silverton, OR with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of food product development in commercial manufacturing.
• Experience taking products from concept to commercialization in bakery/desserts is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development from concept to commercial launch.
• Develop bench prototypes and pilot-scale testing.
• Translate benchtop formulations into scalable manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with Quality, Sales, Purchasing, and Finance.
• Travel up to 25% to support trials and production runs.
