Job summary

UCLA Housing-Dining seeks a skilled Baker lead to manage one or more assistants in producing a variety of bakery items for campus dining facilities. You will oversee recipe execution, quality control, and timely delivery while upholding safety and sanitation standards.

The ideal candidate has 3–4 years of bakery experience, strong English communication, and the ability to train staff and optimize daily production in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years demonstrated experience in a high-volume baking environment.
• Ability to read, understand, and speak English sufficient to determine and carry out job duties.
• Skill in interacting effectively with guests, team members, and managers in a high volume production setting using positive body language, direct eye contact, active listening, problem solving techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead one or more assistants in bakery production and monitor work across multiple bakery items.
• Prepare bakery recipes and bake breads, rolls, cookies, pies, cakes, biscuits, puddings, cobblers, brownies and other items.
• Adhere to food handling, sanitation guidelines, and established timelines for production and delivery.
• Train and monitor others in equipment usage and safety procedures.
