Job Title: Lead Baker

Reports To: Bakery Manager

As the Lead Baker, you will support the Bakery Department Manager in leading our bakery team, producing high-quality bakery items, and maintaining a positive work environment. Your expertise will ensure our department is stocked with fresh products and delivers excellent service.

Job Description

What You'll Do:

• Lead by Example: Uphold Festival culture, guest service, and performance standards.
• Training & Development: Provide ongoing training to bakery associates.
• Staff Management: Assist in staffing and scheduling bakery team members.
• Quality & Standards: Ensure product quality and service standards are met.
• Operational Excellence: Monitor sales floor and stock conditions, take corrective actions.
• Guest Service: Assist guests with inquiries and special requests.
• Product Handling: Package, price, and replenish bakery products, assist in baking and decorating.
• Cleanliness & Safety: Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards.
• Feedback & Compliance: Document violations and advise on corrective actions.
• Attendance & Support: Maintain regular attendance and support team duties.

What We're Looking For:

• Customer Focus: Effective guest and team member interaction.
• Experience: Previous bakery or food service experience required.
• Skills: Math, communication, teamwork.
• Safety Knowledge: Understanding of safety protocols and hazard recognition.
• Decision-Making: Knowledge of retail food operations and merchandising.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Standing for long periods
• Lifting up to 60 lbs
• Near moving machinery and hot areas
• Repetitive hand motions
• Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures

Work Schedule

This is a full-time role with shifts including mornings, afternoons, weekends, evenings, overnight, and holidays as needed.
