US Mobile is seeking an exceptional Lead Backend Engineer who will own the growth and output of a backend engineering pod. You will hire, mentor, and guide a small team while remaining a hands-on contributor and shaping the technical direction alongside engineering leadership.

You will write code, review architecture, and partner with Talent to build out the team as we scale, ensuring reliable, scalable backend services and APIs for millions of customers and devices.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience with Java and Spring Boot, including leadership or people management.
• Proven ability to influence direction and drive architecture at team level.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Hands-on in building scalable backend systems and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a backend engineering pod, hiring, mentoring, and growing the team.
• Shape technical direction across backend systems and roadmap decisions.
• Stay hands-on by designing solutions and shipping features with the team.
• Scale systems to handle millions of customers and devices.
• Write clean, testable code and oversee architecture reviews.
