Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks a Principal Computer Systems Engineer to design and integrate next‑gen avionics computing products. You will work at the intersection of systems, hardware, software, and FPGA development, translating requirements into architecture and overseeing integration, verification, and certification throughout the lifecycle.

Ideal candidates have deep experience in embedded computing, system requirements, and cross‑functional collaboration, contributing to certification readiness

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 8+ years experience
• Experience in embedded computing solutions, hardware, software, and FPGA integration
• Experience defining/managing system requirements and interfaces

Responsibilities

• Develop avionics computer system architecture from system requirements
• Define and manage interfaces between hardware, software and FPGA components
• Oversee integration and verification of embedded computing systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system compatibility and performance
• Support certification processes for avionics computing products
• Provide technical guidance throughout the product lifecycle
• Analyze and resolve system-level technical challenges during design and integration
