Job summary

Castelion is seeking an Avionics Lead – PCBA / Rework in Torrance, CA to lead hands-on board assembly, modification, repair, and rework activities on flight hardware. You will stay engaged with technicians, assess risks, and ensure workmanship and process control meet critical aerospace standards.

You will collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Responsible Engineers, Planning, and the Avionics Supervisor to keep schedules on track, drive continuous improvements, and mentor junior

Qualifications

• Hands-on board assembly and rework experience on PCBA.
• Ability to read drawings, schematics, and rework docs.
• Strong soldering workmanship and inspection knowledge.
• Experience with high-reliability or flight hardware preferred.
• Proactive in identifying risks and guiding teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily visibility of PCBA and rework jobs.
• Identify blockers, shortages, equipment issues, and schedule risks early.
• Drive blockers to the right team and follow through for resolution.
• Communicate delays and risks to Avionics Supervisor before impacts.
• Serve as first technical contact for technicians on PCBA assembly and rework.
• Coordinate with Quality for inspection points and acceptance.
• Train and mentor technicians on PCBA workmanship and rework.
• Reinforce IPC‑A‑610, J‑STD‑001, IPC‑7711/7721 requirements.
