Job summary

Castelion Corporation is seeking a Lead Avionics Engineer to define and deliver the avionics architecture for Castelion’s long‑range hypersonic strike vehicles. This role oversees the integration of power, control electronics, communications, sensors, embedded computing, and flight software from concept through flight test in a fast‑paced, hardware‑driven environment.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, lead system‑level design reviews, and mentor engineers across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in avionics or high-reliability embedded systems for aerospace/defense.
• Strong background in avionics system architecture and interfaces.
• Experience leading development from concept through flight test.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain avionics system architecture for flight vehicles.
• Lead integration of avionics subsystems including flight computers and sensors.
• Develop system-level requirements, wiring architectures, and integration documentation.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, GNC, propulsion, and manufacturing teams for seamless integration.
• Lead hardware integration, bring-up, debugging, and troubleshooting during development and flight tests.
• Define electrical design standards and best practices for high‑reliability flight electronics.
• Support design reviews and make system‑level trades to optimize performance and manufacturability.
• Develop and execute integration, qualification, and flight-test plans.
• Mentor engineers across multiple disciplines and promote avionics best practices.
• Partner with program leadership to align technical trades with mission success.
