Job summary

AutoNation Inc. is seeking an Advanced Autonomous Vehicle (AV) Technician to diagnose, repair, and calibrate autonomous system components across our fleet.

You will work with engineering, operations, and field safety teams to resolve complex issues and implement technical projects in real‑world settings. Ideal candidates have 3–5+ years in automotive, EV, robotics, or AV tech, hands‑on experience with LiDAR, radar, cameras, CAN/LIN tools, and high‑voltage safety.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years as automotive, EV, robotics, or AV technician.
• Strong diagnostic experience with mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.
• Hands-on experience with sensor systems (LiDAR, radar, cameras) and computer hardware.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software, scan tools, and electrical testing equipment.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering documentation.
• Experience with CAN/LIN tools preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in field environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on AV powertrain and high-voltage systems.
• Calibrate sensors and validate alignment and performance.
• Install, configure, and replace AV components and networking equipment.
• Support software deployments, data extraction, and local debugging.
• Assist on-road and test missions and coordinate field responses.
• Document repairs and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Provide mentorship and training to AV technicians.
