Job summary

AutoNation’s Advanced Autonomous Vehicle (AV) Technician role entails diagnosing, repairing, calibrating, and integrating AV systems across complex powertrain, sensor, and control modules. The position collaborates with engineering, operations, and safety teams to resolve issues and push forward AV projects.

The role requires hands-on experience with LiDAR, radar, cameras, CAN/LIN networks, and AV computer hardware, plus proficiency with diagnostic tools and software.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience as automotive, EV, robotics, or AV technician.
• Strong diagnostic experience with mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.
• Hands-on experience with sensor systems (LiDAR, radar, cameras) and computer hardware.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on AV powertrain, braking, suspension, and high‑voltage systems.
• Calibrate sensors and verify LiDAR, radar, cameras, GPS, IMUs, and perception systems.
• Install, configure, and replace AV components; support software deployments and data extraction.
• Assist field testing, on‑road missions, and documentation of failures and fixes.
• Provide mentorship and cross‑functional guidance to technicians.
