Lead AV Project Manager for Live Events

Job summary

Royal Productions is hiring an AV Project Manager to own the production side of our events, from the day a show is sold until the last case is back on the warehouse shelf. You’ll work hand in hand with our sales team, scenic team, warehouse and every other department to deliver shows that run without a hitch.

This is a production management role, not a sales role. You’ll travel to site, build drawings and schedules, and lead the crew on show days.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in live event or AV production, with at least 1 year leading crews or managing shows
• Strong working knowledge of audio, video, lighting, staging, and power distribution
• Experience building event drawings in CAD or Vectorworks
• Proven ability to manage multiple shows and deadlines without dropping details
• Excellent organization and clerical skills
• Clear, calm communicator with clients, sales, crew and vendors
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly, including overnight trips
• Nice to have: hotel or in-house AV experience

Responsibilities

• Own the show from sale to strike
• Review proposals for technical accuracy and keep scope aligned with client budget
• Lead production meetings, site visits and client calls on the technical side
• Track changes and communicate them to the team
• Create and update event drawings and floor plans (CAD/Vectorworks)
• Build production schedules, load-in/load-out timelines and crew sheets
• Plan and coordinate labor with cost and margin in mind
• Coordinate with outside vendors, venues and hotel partners
• Travel to events and serve as on-site lead contact
• Run load-in, rehearsals, show days and strike
• Reconcile labor hours and equipment, submit show reports and debrief
