Job summary

Shield AI in Dallas, TX is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Test to lead verification and validation of autonomy and avionics software for next‑gen aircraft systems. You will design scalable test infrastructure, enable automated testing across SIL, HIL, and VIL environments, and drive rapid, safe deployment to flight operations with cross‑functional partners in autonomy, embedded, and flight ops.

Qualifications

BS or MS in CS, aerospace, EE, robotics, or related field.
8+ years in software or systems testing for safety-critical or mission-critical systems.
3+ years leading teams, including some managers.
Strong proficiency in test automation, scripting, data analysis, and test infrastructure.
Hands-on experience building automated test frameworks (SIL, HIL, VIL, CI/CD).
Experience validating autonomous or distributed real-time systems.
Knowledge of safety frameworks (DO-178C, MIL-STD-882, STANAG).
Experience with simulation tools (Gazebo, ROS/ROS2).

Responsibilities

Build a world class software and system test infrastructure for rapid software deployments.
Own end-to-end system test strategy for SIL, HIL, and VIL environments—scaling for CI/CD.
Design and implement mission-critical test cases validating autonomous behaviors and edge cases.
Coordinate and execute flight test and software release campaigns with cross-functional teams.
