Job summary

Bridgestone America, Inc. in Urbandale, IA seeks a Lead Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems and to mentor a team, delivering high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities include outlining repairs, maintaining current training, and aiding technicians. A sign-on bonus of $2,750 is offered, with a flat-rate pay model and ASE certification support; benefits begin on day one.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid automobile driver's license at all times.
• Skilled in brakes diagnosis/repair.
• Skilled in alignment, steering & suspension diagnosis/repair.
• Skilled in general automotive maintenance & tire repair.
• Current federal, state and local certification/license where applicable.
• Reading, writing and math skills.
• 5 years of automotive repair experience or vocational training.
• ASE certification in at least 3 of A1-A8 (L1 optional) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications—brake, hydraulic, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension and alignment, A/C and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-technical customers.
• Stay current with automotive technology via paid formal training.
• Assist and train technicians in performing technical activities.
• Obtain or maintain ASE certifications within first two years of employment.
