Job summary

Formel D is seeking an Automotive Mechanic in Phoenix to perform inspection, repair, and diagnostic services. You will diagnose computer systems, troubleshoot electrical issues, and replace mechanical/electrical components. You must explain technical diagnoses and repairs to customers.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and at least five years of automotive repair experience, plus the ability to pass a background check and drug screen. Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of five (5) years of automotive repair experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Perform difficult repairs and work specified repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and OEM standards.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brake, air conditioning, etc. to specification.
• Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to management and customers.
• Determine needed repair activity and perform repair.
• Perform standard part replacement and complete actions by following the SMP.
• Lead small groups of other technicians when required without pay adjustment.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions to stay current with technology.
• Inspect and test new vehicles and record findings so that necessary repairs can be made.
• Work in a manufacturing facility, which may include working on the assembly line.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
