Job summary

Get Spiffy, Inc. in San Diego seeks an ASE Certified Lead Automotive Technician to diagnose complex vehicle issues, mentor junior technicians, and ensure high-quality repairs. You will lead workflows, uphold safety standards, and communicate repair needs to customers.

The role offers $35/hour with guaranteed 30+ hours, full benefits, PTO and a growth path in a rapidly expanding company. Shift: 7am-4pm, full-time, on-site in San Diego.

Qualifications

• At least one ASE certification is required.
• 5 years of automotive mechanic experience preferred.
• Ability to lead, motivate and mentor a team.
• Must be able to work in varying temperatures and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Shift may include evenings or overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead technicians and provide guidance on complex diagnostics and repairs.
• Manage daily/weekly schedules and assign tasks to the team.
• Perform hands-on maintenance and diagnostics (oil changes, tires, electrical).
• Oversee inventory, parts ordering, and payroll for the team.
• Maintain a safe, OSHA-compliant work environment.

LEAD AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN (ASE CERTIFIED)

Aa an ASE Certified Lead Automotive Technician you will diagnoses complex vehicle issues, mentor junior technicians, and ensure high-quality repairs and efficiency. You will function as a technical leader, overseeing workflows, upholding safety standards, and often working directly with customers to explain repairs. Must have at least one ASE certification.

SHIFT:7am-4pm

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Mentor technicians, provide guidance on complex diagnostics/repairs (engines, brakes, HVAC), and ensure quality assurance.
• Operational Management: Manage daily/weekly schedules, assign tasks, and monitor repair progress to meet deadlines.
• Maintenance & Diagnostics: Perform hands-on, high-quality maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Administrative Duties: Oversee inventory, manage parts ordering, and handle payroll for the team.
• Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean, organized, OSHA-compliant, and safe working environment.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 5 years previous experience as an automotive mechanic, with a preference for fleet or commercial experience.
• Certifications: Must hold at least one ASE Certificate
• Leadership Skills: Proven capability to lead, motivate, and mentor a team.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to work in varying, often extreme, temperature conditions (hot/cold), and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Schedule Flexibility: Position may require evening or overnight shifts
