Job description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Automotive Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician who takes pride in delivering quality repairs, mentoring team members, and helping maintain an efficient and professional shop environment. The Lead Technician will be responsible for diagnosing complex vehicle issues, performing advanced repairs, supporting other technicians with troubleshooting, and ensuring work is completed accurately and efficiently. This position plays a key role in maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Use diagnostic equipment, technical expertise, and the vehicle’s integrated diagnostic systems to identify and determine the cause of malfunction codes
  • Adhere to manufacturer specifications to maintain vehicle systems and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Perform routine maintenance, as needed, like checking fluid levels, rotating tires, and oil changes
  • Examine all vehicle systems such as the air conditioning, engine, transmission, and brake systems with a step-by-step approach
  • Help establish service protocols for tracking the status of repairs, maintaining relevant technical manuals, using charts, and more for all of our dealerships
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex vehicle issues with precision and efficiency
  • Perform advanced repairs and maintenance to ensure vehicles meet safety and performance standards
  • Mentor and support fellow technicians, fostering a collaborative and learning-focused environment
  • Ensure all work is completed accurately, adhering to industry standards and company guidelines
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional shop environment to enhance productivity and safety
  • Communicate effectively with team members, providing clear updates and recommendations
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and technology to enhance repair accuracy and efficiency, staying current with industry advancements
Qualifications
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED
  • ASE certification or comparable standard service technician credential, such as SAE, is attractive
  • Strong customer service and communications skills are needed
  • Completion of a certified post-secondary training program is mandatory; an associate degree is ideal
  • 7+ years of automotive repair experience
  • Strong diagnostic ability across mechanical, electrical, and drivability systems
  • Proven Leadership skills and mindset with the ability to mentor and support other technicians
  • Ability to efficiently manage complex repairs while maintaining high-quality workmanship
  • Commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement
  • Experience using advanced diagnostic tools, scan equipment, and modern repair technology
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and pride in delivering top-level repairs
  • ASE certifications are highly valued/ Society of Automotive Engineers (Master Technician preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license
