Job summary

City of Temple, TX is seeking a Foreman I to lead a repair shop for city vehicles and equipment. Under the Operations Manager, you will direct a crew of technicians and optimize safety, throughput, and quality.

You will serve as liaison across departments, manage warranty and sublet work, oversee work orders, inspections, and parts, and drive continuous improvement in shop operations. Qualifications include a high school diploma, 3 years in automotive and equipment repair, demonstrated

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) years of experience in maintenance and repair of automotive, small equipment, trucks up to Class 8, diesel engines, and/or mechanical shop equipment.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Must furnish own hand tools and toolbox.

Responsibilities

• Leads and develops a crew of up to eight technicians in automotive and equipment repairs; ensures proper diagnosis, servicing, and repair of mechanical defects.
• Coordinates warranty and vendor repair work and oversees work orders.
• Oversees equipment maintenance and repair procedures, provides guidance on modifications and replacements.
• Drives continuous improvement initiatives to optimize shop operations and reduce turnaround times.
