Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an Engineering Technician IV on site to lead automation efforts across production equipment.

You will diagnose fault conditions, guide on-shift technicians, and drive uptime for multiple production generations. The role requires a minimum of six years in manufacturing with PLC programming experience (Rockwell/Siemens), robotics, and a solid grounding in GMP and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum six (6) years of relevant work experience with a proven record of solving problems
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; degree or relevant certifications are a plus
• Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Fault-find sophisticated automation equipment.
• Work with the team to develop strong proficiencies in problem solving within the lens manufacturing environment.
• Develop an in-depth knowledge of all control systems currently in use across the entire plant including PLCs, vision systems, lasers, barcode readers, RFID readers, robots and networks.
• Develop and publish comprehensive troubleshooting articles for sophisticated problems.
• Be part of the knowledge transfer process growing the technical skills of on shift personnel.
• Operate as first point of contact for automation software related line down problems.
• Work directly with Automation Engineers to develop solutions for line run ability issues.
