Job summary

Premier Staffing Solution seeks an Automations Controls Engineer to own advanced automation, networking, robotics, and system-recovery blocks on the shop floor. This 12-month contract emphasizes mentoring and upskilling maintenance teams across Normal, IL and Bloomington, IL facilities.

The role covers Studio 5000/FactoryTalk on site, Fanuc robotics, and robust industrial networks, with shifts across all three time blocks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of shop-floor experience focusing on Rockwell (Studio 5000/FactoryTalk) and Fanuc platforms.
• Experience in adult technical education, industrial instruction, or structured system integration mentoring.
• Proactive, flexible, confident, professional, and self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
• Thrive independently and in high-performing teams, handling high-stress situations.
• Strong facilitation and interpersonal communication with high emotional intelligence.
• Deep understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems to analyze problems and execute repairs.

Responsibilities

• Own advanced automation, Rockwell Studio 5000/FactoryTalk environments on the shop floor.
• Deploy, optimize, and troubleshoot Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk systems.
• Develop and refine control logic aligned with client specs and industry best practices.
• Lead Robotics with Fanuc platforms, manage sequences, configurations, and paths.
• Lead hands-on troubleshooting and calibration on manufacturing lines.
• Design, validate, and maintain robust network architectures for automated lines.
• Mentor maintenance technicians and floor engineers using adult-learning techniques.
• Bridge design intent and floor execution using SOPs and schematics.
