Job summary

VersaTech Automation Services seeks an Automation Project Engineer to design, implement, and optimize automation systems for on-site facilities in Houston. You will manage projects from design through start-up, coordinating with drafting, procurement, fabrication, and sales to ensure safe, compliant operation of PLC, SCADA, and instrumentation networks.

Qualifications

• Experienced in designing and implementing automation and control systems.
• Proficient with PLCs, SCADA, HMI, RTUs, and instrumentation.
• Strong ability to manage projects from design through start-up and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and report across departments including drafting, procurement, fabrication, and sales.
• Lead engineering, design, configuration, testing, commissioning and maintenance of automation systems.
• Program PLC and HMI systems using industry-standard platforms.
• Develop control narratives, diagrams, P&IDs for validation and compliance.
• Provide technical support for brownfield and greenfield projects and site start-up.
