Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. seeks a senior Protection & Controls engineer to own projects from design through commissioning in substations, BESS, and solar. You will mentor engineers and help build standards and documentation to scale the team.

The role focuses on designing, programming, and commissioning automation systems for protection, controls, and communication protocols, with hands-on work on SEL RTACs, relays, and RTACs in field deployments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience with substation or industrial automation.
• Hands-on experience with SEL relays and RTACs.
• Field commissioning experience required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and commission automation for substations, BESS, and solar.
• Own project scope, schedule, and quality; ensure deliverable reviews.
• Mentor engineers and help build team standards and documentation.
• Lead testing and field commissioning activities.
