Eaton Mobility is seeking a Lead Automation Engineer for a remote but highly travel role. The position supports 5+ manufacturing sites in the U.S., with travel 50-75%.

The successful candidate will lead automation initiatives to improve manufacturing efficiency, develop scopes of work, justify capital projects, and manage supplier relations. Minimum of a Bachelor's in Engineering and 3+ years in automating manufacturing processes is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 3 years of experience automating manufacturing processes.
• Remote-friendly role, but work location must be MI, OH, IL, IN, SC, NC, GA, TN, or KY.
• Willing to travel 50–75% across the USA.

Responsibilities

• Identify automation opportunities within the North American region.
• Develop scopes of work for automation opportunities.
• Establish a reliable automation supply base and obtain proposals.
• Prepare financial justification for automation projects.
• Develop CARs for automation projects.
• Coordinate with Finance and leadership for CAR approvals.
• Procure equipment per project plan and standards.
• Troubleshoot existing automation with controls and robotics expertise.
