Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Automation Engineer in Oceanside, CA, to lead end-to-end automation and manufacturing projects from concept through full-scale production. You will design and refine plastics tooling and automated equipment using SolidWorks, develop prototypes, and apply DFMA principles to improve manufacturability.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage vendor relationships, and drive continuous improvement in throughput, quality, and cost.

Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years engineering experience in manufacturing environments.
Hands-on plastics manufacturing experience, injection/blow molding.
Strong SolidWorks design for tooling and automation.
Proven record implementing manufacturing automation solutions.
Experience managing vendors and system integrators.
Ability to analyze labor, quality, cost, and throughput for improvements.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end automation and manufacturing projects from concept through production.
Create and refine SolidWorks models for plastic components and automated equipment.
Develop prototypes and apply DFMA principles to manufacturing processes.
Support plastics operations and optimize injection/blow molding processes.
Evaluate processes to identify automation opportunities and cost savings.
Define, plan, and manage automation projects with vendors and integrators.
Support FAT/SAT for new equipment and ensure quality and safety.
Communicate status, risks, and plans to stakeholders.
