Job summary

Avanceon is seeking an experienced Lead Project Engineer with strong Inductive Automation Ignition expertise to join our Engineering Team. This role combines hands-on automation and controls engineering with responsibility for leading project teams and owning the successful technical delivery of customer projects.

You will lead technical decisions, coordinate engineering activities across disciplines, and ensure Ignition-based solutions are designed, tested, deployed, and supported across

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Inductive Automation Ignition in industrial settings.
• Ability to independently develop, troubleshoot, and deploy Ignition solutions.
• Experience leading engineering teams and owning automation projects from design to commissioning.
• Experience programming PLC/SCADA systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider preferred).
• Proficient in SQL, scripting, and industrial protocols.
• Excellent customer-facing communication across engineering, IT, and operations.
• Ignition Gold Certification preferred or equivalent Ignition project experience.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer challenges and design automation solutions.
• Act as technical authority for projects and ensure quality.
• Lead engineering teams and coordinate activities.
• Collaborate with PM on planning, scheduling, and documentation.
• Design, test, deploy Ignition-based applications.
• Develop and integrate PLC, HMI/SCADA solutions.
• Apply Industry 4.0 and IIoT technologies.
• Coordinate across engineering, IT, and operations throughout lifecycle.
