Job summary

Esterline is seeking a Lead Designer of Automation Systems to drive the design and upgrade of automated production equipment. You will coordinate with program managers, R&D, and engineering to plan infrastructure improvements and financial justifications, while supervising outsourced builds and installation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PLC/HMI, CAD, and hands-on problem solving, with a track record of delivering cost-effective automation solutions.

Qualifications

• Solid background in automation engineering and controls.
• Experience with automation equipment and tooling.
• Proven ability to read and interpret engineering data.

Responsibilities

• Lead designer of automation systems for production equipment.
• Coordinate with program managers and R&D for infrastructure improvements and ROI justifications.
• Prepare cost estimates and statements of work for tooling and equipment.
• Oversee design and build of outsourced systems and supervise installation.
• Stay informed on new technologies and potential applications.
