Job summary

Pillar Innovations, LLC is hiring an Automation Controls Technician III – Electrical & Automation in Grantsville, MD. The role involves installing and wiring control panels, sensors, and machinery across shop, office, and customer sites.

Candidate should have 5+ years in electrical/automation, MD/WV journeyman license, and be comfortable with travel and overtime. Strong problem-solving and leadership skills are valued for project leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in electrical, controls, automation, or robotics.
• Electrical Journeyman License in MD or WV.
• MSHA Electrical card or willingness to obtain within a year.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience reading and interpreting manuals and electrical drawings.
• Willing to perform hands-on programming and automation controls.
• Ability to interpret scope of work for specific tasks.
• Leadership experience preferred with focus on leading jobs.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation of conduit and wire, tubing, sensors, etc.
• Wire various electrical control panels, motors, and devices
• Perform calibrations on instrumentation (pressure sensors, load cells, flow meters)
• Work safely with voltages (24VDC, 120VAC, 480VAC; single/3-phase)
• Interpret and mark up electrical drawings for custom machines and systems
• Configure controls components
• Evaluate inventory and coordinate with Purchasing for materials
• Troubleshoot to identify root cause and resolve issues
