Job summary

ASRC Energy Services, LLC seeks an experienced Automation Controls Specialist - Lead to join our Alaska operations. This role focuses on programming, configuring, and optimizing DCS, instrumentation troubleshooting, and control-system design in a remote oil and gas environment.

You will lead DCS projects across Honeywell, Emerson DeltaV, Yokogawa platforms, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with operations, maintenance, and engineering to ensure safe, reliable plant performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control, or equivalent.
• 7+ years in control systems within oil and gas, with 2+ years in a lead role.
• Proficient in DCS programming and troubleshooting; familiar with PLC/SCADA.
• Strong knowledge of field instrumentation and PID tuning.
• Able to read P&IDs, loop sheets, and control documentation.
• Willingness to travel to field sites in extreme weather.

Responsibilities

• Lead programming, configuration, and commissioning of DCS platforms.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and control loops to maintain reliable operation.
• Design changes to control architecture, logic, and HMI graphics.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering on upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with safety and automation standards; develop docs.
• Mentor junior technicians and provide on-site training.
• Support shutdowns, startups, and turnarounds with technical input.
