Job summary

Black Book, part of the Hearst Transportation group, seeks a hands-on Product Leader for Auto Finance & Risk Intelligence. You will own the product strategy from discovery to launch, partnering with Data Science, Residuals, and Engineering to build value-driven workflows for lenders, captives, and investors.

You will drive customer discovery, prototype with AI tools, and ensure successful market adoption, with travel including Canada.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in product management with 3+ years leading cross-functional initiatives in data/analytics or SaaS products.
• Deep automotive finance knowledge including lenders, captives, servicers, issuers, or investors.
• Experience turning data/analytics into purchasable products for enterprise customers.
• Experience with 0-to-1 discovery, customer interviews, prototypes, and willingness-to-pay conversations.
• Strong hands-on ability while influencing engineering, data science, and sales teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of simplifying complex automotive/financial concepts.

Responsibilities

• Own Auto Finance & Risk Intelligence product strategy, roadmap, and portfolio prioritization.
• Lead customer and market discovery with lenders, issuers, and institutional investors.
• Identify and validate high-value opportunities across finance risk, analytics, collateral intelligence, and scenario analysis.
• Translate needs into measurable product outcomes, workflows, and prototypes.
• Use AI-native tools to prototype concepts and accelerate validation.
• Partner with engineering, data science, and operations to validate feasibility and align on requirements.
• Secure early customer validation and anchor contracts.
• Own launch readiness, sales enablement, and post-launch feedback loop.
• Define packaging, pricing, and evolve the commercial model.
• Coach and develop product owner and establish product practices.
